I believe everyone, no matter their age, is doing the best they know how. I also believe that sometimes doing the best they know how, may not always bring us the happiness we are seeking.
I am here to listen without judgment and offer new skills and ways of thinking that may alleviate the pain you or your child may be experiencing. I believe therapy is most useful in a collaborative approach, recognizing that a route one person may find most helpful, may not be the best route for another. I value feedback and hope the client and/or parents will feel comfortable sharing any concerns or questions that may arise during treatment.
I am a certified social worker (CSW) graduating with my Master of Social Work at Brigham Young University in 2019 and my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Utah State University in 2013. My interest in working with children and adolescents therapeutically started while working in schools and daycare settings, igniting a passion for working with students with social-emotional needs.
Since becoming a therapist, my passion has expanded to helping those with anxiety, depression, trauma, and LGBTQ+ needs. I have worked in both residential and outpatient settings and have worked with children, adolescents, and adults.
I utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach while also integrating DBT skills, mindfulness, play therapy, and experiential activities, such as art, music, and body movement.
In my spare time, I enjoy being a spectator of the arts and also enjoy visiting museums and aquariums. I love trying out new restaurants and experimenting with desserts of all kinds to satisfy my sweet tooth.
